Hank III is Shelton Hank Williams III. Hank Williams Jr. is dad and country music legend Hank Williams is granddad. Hank III plays more than country music though. He plays rockabilly/punk music --and-- he plays heavy metal --and-- he does all three genres in the same show! Two hours of country, thirty minutes of doom/stoner rock, and thirty minutes of speed metal w/vocals done by real fast-talking auctioneers... three different genres of music all performed by one Hank III!

I'll admit that I listened to Weird Al Yankovic... 25 years ago! His music videos were all over MTV. I watched his movie UHF in 1989 (and probably a few times since then). How can you not like his parody songs -- "Eat It", "Fat", "Money for Nothing / Beverly Hillbillies", "Amish Paradise", "Like a Surgeon"?! I couldn't tell you what his recent parodies are, so he played quite a few that I didn't know... and most were equally as entertaining as the ones that I do know! Between almost every song was a costume change, and Weird Al showed extremely funny video clips from Al TV, UHF, and MTV, in order to have time to change.

These kids (yes, kids) were moshing and crowd-surfing before the lights went down and before the band even started! I felt as if I experienced what it would be like to be standing onstage with The Dillinger Escape Plan...

[2024 addendum] I managed to bring a semi-pro consumer camera into all three shows and posted photos of the first two shows on my now-defunct Flickr account, and I woke up on February 23, 2011 to a cease and desist email from Prince's manager! "Please cease and desist to display and claim ownership of any photos of Prince or his concert at the Oracle in Oakland on the 21st Feb. We had one official photographer at the show and it was not you. Our legal team have been alerted to this copyright infringement and will be in touch forthwith unless ALL your images of Prince or his shows are removed from the internet immediately." My reply, in which I never heard anything further from legal or anyone else, was: "I am not and have never claimed to be your official photographer. I am curious to know how posting a photo is a copyright infringement or how I am claiming ownership to Prince or his concert by posting said photo(s)? Also, it should be noted that I took all photos with a regular camera (not professional). They did turn out great though!"
